The Latin American Centre is the focal point at the University of Oxford for graduate student, post-doctoral, and faculty research on the region. Founded in 1964 by St Antony’s College, and an official UK centre in 1965, the LAC educates graduate students in history and the social sciences applied to Latin America. Over its five decades of scholarship the Centre's MSc and MPhil degrees have become among Europe's most prestigious and successful training programmes of its kind. The weekly seminar brings distinguished scholars from around the world to present their research on the region. It runs at least once per week during the teaching terms.
